Speakers and Panelists

Keynote Speaker – Tom Kamber
Founder and Executive Director, Older Adults Technology Services (OATS) from AARP

Tom Kamber is the founder and executive director of Older Adults Technology Services (OATS) from AARP, which he built from a single site in Brooklyn, NY, into a national organization partnering with more than 600 locations and serving over half a million participants annually. He is the architect of Senior Planet, the award-winning initiative advancing digital inclusion and community engagement for older adults through flagship centers in New York City, Miami, Denver, and national licensing partnerships.

In 2021, he led OATS through its successful affiliation with AARP, expanding its reach and impact nationwide. He has taught at Columbia University on technology, social entrepreneurship, and philanthropy, and his work has been published and presented internationally. He holds a BA from Columbia University and a PhD from the City University of New York.

Panelist – Anne Goldberg
Technology Educator, Digital Literacy for Older Adults

Anne Goldberg is a technology educator dedicated to advancing digital literacy among older adults. Since 2013, she has taught thousands of seniors across South Florida, from Cutler Bay to Port St. Lucie, through group classes and individualized instruction. Her teaching spans smartphones and computers across iOS, Android, PC, and Mac platforms, with a focus on practical, accessible, real-world learning. She is recognized for her ability to translate complex technology into clear, relatable instruction delivered with patience, humor, and compassion. Her work extends beyond technical skills to include digital safety, scam awareness, and principles from her program The Art of Living Longer, which emphasizes independence, confidence, and purposeful aging.

Panelist – Raymond L. Ownby, MD, PhD, MBA
Chair, Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Medicine, Nova Southeastern University

Dr. Raymond L. Ownby is a board-certified neuropsychiatrist, researcher, and academic leader whose work bridges brain health, health literacy, and health equity. He serves as Chair of the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Medicine at Nova Southeastern University, where he leads interdisciplinary research in cognitive health, chronic disease management, and digital therapeutics. He has authored more than 200 peer-reviewed publications and secured over $8 million in National Institutes of Health funding. His research has advanced technology-enabled approaches to improving patient understanding and engagement, particularly among individuals with limited health literacy. His current work explores the integration of artificial intelligence to enhance patient education and personalize care delivery.

He is the author of Sharper Minds, Better Lives.

Panel Moderator – Joy Siegel, EdD, MBA
Assistant Professor, Public Health, Nova Southeastern University

Dr. Joy Siegel is a gerontologist and public health scholar specializing in aging, health equity, and community-based care for older adults. She serves as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Public Health at Nova Southeastern University, where her work focuses on healthy aging, social determinants of health, and improving access to services that support independence and quality of life. Her professional experience spans public health programming, aging-focused initiatives, and cross-sector collaboration aimed at strengthening community-based supports for older adults and caregivers. She has contributed to initiatives addressing access to care, social isolation, and systems-level approaches to improving aging outcomes. Dr. Siegel will serve as moderator for the panel discussion, guiding a conversation among leading experts in aging, cognitive health, and technology.

Master of Ceremonies – John Gerard
Meteorologist, WPLG Local 10 News

John Gerard is an award-winning broadcast meteorologist and longtime weather anchor for WPLG Local 10 News, serving South Florida audiences for more than four decades. Known for his clarity and calm authority on air, he brings trusted communication and professionalism to both broadcast and stage. He holds the Certified Broadcast Meteorologist (CBM) designation from the American Meteorological Society and has served as an adjunct professor at the University of Miami. John brings warmth, experience, and composure to the role of Master of Ceremonies.
